New Office Complex

A two-story professional office condominium will soon be built on the east side of Hwy. 35 North next to Arrow Building Center.

Earth moving and other site preparations have been underway for two weeks.

The new structure will be called Valley View Office Condominium Building.

The 30,000-square foot building will serve as corporate headquarters for the local firm of K&S Developers.

Since February K&S has been leasing space at the River Center, 215 N. Second St.

K&S is owned by River Falls natives, Chris Kusilek and Mark Sylla.

K&S is a land developing company. Recent residential developments by the company include Boulder Ridge, east of the hospital; and High View Meadows, east of River Falls Golf Course.

K&S co-owner Chris Kusilek also runs F&K Excavating, 141 Hwy. 35N. Sylla, Kusilek’s partner, also has his own business: EW Homes.

Besides housing K&S, the new Valley View Office Condominium will have space for five professional business tenants. No space has been leased yet.

“We feel there is an ongoing demand for this type of space,” K&S General Manager Mike Turner said. “And there is certainly high visibility being on Highway 35.”

Valley View is being designed by the local firm of Frisbie Architects.

The new building will have a brick-and-glass facade, metal roof and first-floor main entrance from the west parking lot and a second-floor main entrance from the east parking lot.

Construction is expected to begin this fall, proceed during the winter and be done by spring or summer.

Part of the construction project also involves adding more parking spaces next door for NMC employees.

NMC, 186 County Road U, is located in the brick building that once held Farm Credit Services (today called AgStar Financial Services). It’s just north of the Valley View Office construction site.

Hudson-based NMC runs six Midwestern nuclear power plants, including Prairie Island in Red Wing, Minn.

Earlier this year NMC signed an 18-month lease with K&S for the 26,000-square foot building.
