Friday marks the opening of Hudson’s Massage Envy clinic at 1007 Pearson Drive in Ban Tara Center.
Owner Gloria WahrenBrock was looking for a business opportunity when she ran into the regional representative for Massage Envy in a local restaurant in early 2006.
“The health and wellness industry was a good area to be looking at,” said WahrenBrock a seasoned business woman who was the first graduate of the College of St. Catherine’s weekend degree program with degrees in business administration and economics. She is a supervisor for the Town of Troy, volunteers with Habitat for Humanity and has family business interests in the River Falls Perkins, Mariachi Loco in River Falls and Cousins Subs in Hudson.
“Massage Envy is based on a unique concept,” said WahrenBrock. “Providing quality therapy at a reasonable price and at convenient hours. It is open 88 hours a week.
“We currently have 10 massage therapists on staff offering Swedish, deep tissue, myofascial, trigger point, sports, reflexology, prenatal and sports massage,” said WahrenBrock.
“This concept works for us baby boomers and gen Y’ers,” said WahrenBrock. “We all have an interest in staying well and aging well. Massage therapy can help both.”
Massage Envy originated in Scottsdale, Ariz., three years ago and is the fastest growing franchise in the United States, with over 250 clinics open nationwide. Hudson’s location is No. 276.
The Hudson clinic offers 14 therapy rooms, one of which is a couples room. Hours are Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-10 p.m.; Saturday, 8 a.m.-6 p.m.; and Sunday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
